Ted Terry (GA-Sen), "We can stop gun violence. Here's just one way"

Gun violence is one of America’s biggest public health crises — and it can be prevented.

There’s no single cure for this epidemic. But “red flag” laws — which have already saved lives in 15 states and Washington, DC — are a powerful first step.

It’s easy to see how these laws have prevented tragedies: They empower loved ones to speak up when they see warning signs and temporarily block access to weapons for people who pose an extreme risk of harming themselves or others.

Georgia lawmakers are already considering this lifesaving legislation. Together, our voices can make our state a safer place to live, work, and go to school.
