Missouri Guns on Public Transport Bill Gets Hearing Today / by Charles Yeganian

Missouri SB 39, by Republican Sen. Robert Onder, would undo current law that prohibits the carrying of firearms on public transportation or in transportation terminals and would allow the carrying of unloaded firearms on public buses. It is one of the NRA’s biggest priorities in a state that is already one of the ten worst in the country when it comes to gun laws and ranks seventh nationally in gun deaths.

The Missouri Senate Committee on Transportation, Infrastructure, and Public Safety will be holding a hearing on this bill today, and the NRA is urging its membership to pressure members into moving this bill to the Senate floor.

LEAP Forward will be grading action on SB 39 and scoring opposition.
