Iowa: Bill to limit employer control of firearms on their property gets hearing today

Iowa SF 213 goes before the Senate Judiciary Committee this afternoon after being cleared by a Senate subcommittee yesterday.

The Republican-sponsored bill would bar a public or private employer from restricting the possession of firearms and ammunition on the property of that employer’s business. This includes employees working under contract and volunteers. All that would be required is for the weapon to be “out of sight” and inside a locked vehicle.

LEAP Forward is grading SF 213 and scoring opposition.
