Federal: Two gun regulations are before the full House this week

This week, two bills that would strengthen universal background checks will be heard by the full House of Representatives. The NRA told their members “It’s now imperative that you take action to stop this ineffective and unconstitutional gun control.”

To oppose the power of the NRA, concerned citizens must support these bills right now. Therefore, it is imperative that you call your U.S. Representative and urge him or her to support these bills.

The Bills

H.R. 8 would require background checks for every sale of a firearm. This includes gun shows, private sales and internet sales.

H.R. 1112 would strengthen background check procedures. It would close a loophole that allows the sale of a firearm to proceed if a background check is not completed within three business days.
