West Virginia: Fortunately, allowing guns at college is currently held up

The West Virginia House Rules Committee is considering a bill that would force all colleges to allow employees and students to bring guns on campus. In the meantime, a deadline is approaching for release of this bill for a full vote by the House.

The NRA today asked all members to “contact Speaker of the House Roger Hanshaw and urge him to discharge HB 2519 from the Rules Committee.”  Without delay, this is the opportune moment for concerned citizens to oppose a dangerous NRA effort to expand gun proliferation to college campuses.

The Bill

House Bill 2519 would require colleges to allow concealed handgun license holders to bring their loaded guns to college campus.

Do as pro-gun people are doing. Barrage the office of Speaker Hanshaw 304-340-3210 and ask him not to discharge HB 2519 from the Rules Committee.

  • From the Indivisible Guide 2.0: “Coordinated calls. Calls are a light lift, but can have an impact. Organize your local group to barrage your MoCs [legislators] with calls at an opportune moment about and on a specific issue.”

  • To leverage the impact – forward this on to another concerned citizen.
