South Dakota: Preemption bill moves to full House

This past week, the House Local Government Committee passed the preemption bill. Preemption would infringe on any local community’s freedom to make their own ordinances. In some states, city councilors fear approving gun restrictions out of exposure to personal lawsuits.

The NRA notified members to advocate for this law. Therefore, gun reform minded citizens should oppose this bill.

The Bill

House Bill 1056 would prevent local municipalities from enacting any gun ordinances.

Now is a perfect time in South Dakota to help block NRA power. Just make a quick call to the office of your State Representative. Ask that the Representative oppose House Bill 1056 to maintain local freedom to enact some gun restrictions.
