New Mexico: Several gun bills being discussed in committee today, Mar 2.

Three gun related bills are before committees today, Mar 2. The NRA vehemently opposes these gun safety regulations because they would inconvenience gun owners. Protecting inconvenience is more important than saving gun deaths to them. Concerned citizens should all support these bills.

The Bills

✔House Bill 8 would restrict private firearms sales between individuals. A permit requiring a background check would be required.

Action

This meeting schedule just only came out yesterday, so it is probably too late to call committee members. However, this is a good time to call your New Mexico State Representatives office and ask for support of HB 8. Also, call the office of your State Senator and ask for support of HB 83 and HB 87.

  • Enter your zip code at The League of Women Voters to find your representatives and senators.

  • To leverage the impact – forward this on to another concerned citizen.
